Bridging The Way are seeking a dedicated Attendance & Engagement Mentor to join our team in the Bradford District. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating strong connections between schools, families, and various external agencies such as West Yorkshire Police, NHS, and Social Services. This position requires a proactive individual who can positively engage with families and learners, manage challenging behaviours, and maintain accurate student and family records. A significant part of the role involves working closely with Roma communities from Eastern Europe, including those from Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, and other backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Collaboration
Establish and maintain effective links with schools, families, and external agencies.
Family Liaison
Serve as the primary point of contact between families and stakeholders.
Engagement
Deliver training programs to engage families and learners, particularly within Roma communities.
Record Keeping
Assist in the collection and upkeep of documentation for student and family records.
Home Visits
Conduct home visits and welfare checks to ensure student well-being.
Attendance Monitoring
Track and follow up on student absences promptly.
Meetings
Participate in team and staff meetings, as well as case study meetings.
Professional Development
Engage in staff development activities to enhance skills and effectiveness.
Policy Compliance
Adhere to business policies and procedures.
General Duties
Safeguarding
Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Maintain high standards of ethics and professional conduct.
Restorative Practices
Promote and manage restorative practice approaches to strengthen relationships.

Candidate Profile
Communicate Roma, or any other Eastern European language
Training
Willingness to undertake training in supporting disengaged or disadvantaged students.
Skills
Ability to manage challenging behaviour, prioritise tasks, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
