Required for an immediate start, subject to notice periods, we are seeking a compassionate, self-motivated and driven individual to join our Student Support Team as a Student Engagement Mentor. This is a key pastoral role, designed to increase the engagement of identified students and their families in all aspects of school life.

Initially, the focus will be on supporting students eligible for pupil premium funding and students from Black ethnic backgrounds, as these groups are currently experiencing lower academic outcomes. Over time, the target cohorts and priorities may evolve in response to emerging data.

This is a varied and rewarding position involving direct student support through one-to-one and small group work, with a focus on:

Motivation, wellbeing, and engagement Improving attendance, punctuality, and behaviour Strengthening relationships between students and staff Reducing internal exclusions Building meaningful connections with families and external agencies


The exact focus of the role will be agreed in line with your experience and strengths and reviewed regularly through supportive line management.
