Permanent role, 37 hours a week. 25 Days Annual Leave - plus bank holidays


What will I be doing?



We're working to improve the lives of young people in Somerset -- and you'll be a key part of that. As a senior member of our newly established Attendance Monitoring Service, you'll help shape a proactive, data-driven approach to supporting school attendance across the county. You'll lead and support a small team, manage workflows, and turn data into insight that drives real change. You'll work closely with schools, families, and support services -- building relationships, solving problems, and making a difference every day.



Your day-to-day work will involve:


Lead and support a small, dedicated team Monitor team activities and support workload prioritisation Analyse attendance data and reports Support schools, support services and members of the public Contribute to service innovation and development


What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?



We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:


Can communicate effectively and confidently with colleagues at all levels. Can prioritise and work to deadlines. Are well organised, accurate and resourceful. Have previous experience of working in an administrative role, working in a team and supervisory experience. Have a minimum of NVQ Level 3 standard/ 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above, with good standards of literacy, numeracy and accuracy. Are proficient in Microsoft Office programmes, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The Salary for the Attendance Monitoring Officer is Grade 13, ranging from 25,989 to 28,142 per annum.
