We are seeking a reliable, proactive and efficient Attendance Officer to join the team at Thetford Academy.


The successful candidate will help our students achieve success by working with students, families, staff and other agencies to support and intervene with student attendance. You will have excellent organisational skills and confidence in communicating with a range of different stakeholders, including students and parents.

The main responsibility of the Attendance Officer role will be:




To promote high levels of school attendance and punctuality


To liaise with parents, relevant County Council, alternative education providers, schools and other staff to support and improve student attendance


To conduct meetings with students and families


To support good attendance through mentoring and small group work with students.


To ensure the swift and accurate completion of the school register and any other attendance documentation


The ideal candidate will have:




GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English


NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in a relevant role


Experience in working in monitoring attendance and punctuality of students


Ability to build good relationships with teaching staff and Academy Leadership Team
