AUCTION HOUSE PORTER

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A PHYSICALLY DEMANDING ROLE SO A GOOD LEVEL OF FITNESS AND MOBILITY IS ESSENTIAL.

Moore Allen & Innocent Auctioneers have an exciting opportunity for a pro-active auction house porter to work in the team, providing support to deliver an auction every month.

A fundamental responsibility of this role involves daily handling and carrying of furniture and antiques so physical fitness and strength of the candidate is essential. You will be self-motivated and demonstrate a keenness to learn and get the job done.

This is a dynamic and varied role, no two days are ever the same. Core duties will include:

Unloading deliveries and placing items in line with guidance.

Ensuring all items are recorded and labelled accurately and stored efficiently. Deliveries and handling incudes large and fragile objects so attention to detail is critical.

Ensuring the saleroom is set up in line with saleroom guidelines in a timely and efficient manner to meet key deadlines.

Keeping storage areas organised and tidy.

Maintaining a safe working environment in the saleroom and providing a positive customer experience at all times.

Assisting auctioneers during cataloguing, including provision of photography and upload on to computers.

Assistance during viewing and sale days to co-ordinate the saleroom, collections, commission and telephone bids, online bidding computer, running sheets etc.

Be IT Literate - a working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products is essential. Knowledge of Bidmaster would be beneficial but not essential.

Assisting with clearing down after a sale and handing out goods to buyers and vendors.

Salary range - from 20,000 - 24,000 per annum subject to age and experience
