Audio Visual Support Lead

Technology at White & Case is vital for enabling our lawyers to practice law globally. Our team has three main functions: Business Services (maintains and supports enterprise systems), Operations (manages communications and data centres), and Technology Support (provides desktop, audiovisual, and training support). Together, we provide our lawyers with advanced technology and systems for top-tier legal and client services.



The Technology Department collaborates closely with business services to support the Firm's Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, and Knowledge systems, playing a crucial role in global operations.



You will manage and allocate team resources and services to support daily scheduled and ad hoc meetings, production and conference events in the New York office, virtual events with other locations, and offsite events. You maintain, troubleshoot, and repair (or escalate) the Firm's integrated AV systems. You will communicate, engage, and work closely with technology colleagues, Firm leaders, and Events and Concierge teams to ensure professional, timely, and client-focused services.




Key Responsibilities



Technical Support


Leading day-to-day operations of the AV support team, assigning specialists for scheduled and ad-hoc audio/visual conferences and events Serving as an expert and advocate for collaboration tools including Webex, Jabber, content sharing, and digital recording, with a preference for WebRTC experience Possessing extensive knowledge of Cisco scheduling, bridging, and management services Ensuring timely setup of executive and practice meetings, town halls, and client events with appropriate equipment; providing AV support and breakdown of audio-visual equipment Performing frequent system quality checks and promptly correcting A/V issues before events Maintaining an inventory of Firm-owned, leased, and rented AV equipment Assisting with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of integrated AV systems Working with the manager to recommend and implement enhancements to technical setups, workflows, and processes for improved AV service delivery

Client-excellence Service


Collaborating with Concierge and technology peers to monitor, assign, and support AV and technical requests, meeting regularly to plan, implement, and improve services Serving as a technical floor manager with the Events and Concierge teams to assist in planning, logistics, and execution of meetings Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and striving to exceed client expectations Maintaining personal contact, following up, and closing loops with Firm colleagues and vendors Assisting the AV Production Team with video and still photography assignments, video editing, and supporting Firm events Communicating, engaging, and working closely with colleagues, Firm leaders, Events, and Concierge teams to deliver professional, timely, and client-focused services

Leadership


Leading the AV team, managing resources, tasks, and projects Training and mentoring AV team members, influencing their professional development Cultivating positive and collaborative relationships within the team, the Firm, and clients Professionally communicating, engaging, and following up with partners, associates, business services leaders, and peers Working with GTS leaders to improve efficiency and productivity within the Firm Excelling at prioritising, working well under pressure, and thriving under operational demands Providing scheduled and ad hoc updates (and reports) to the Manager Undertaking other reasonable duties as requested by management

Additional Responsibilities


Maintaining continuous improvement and education by attending seminars and staying current on leadership skills Keeping professional and technical knowledge up to date by reviewing related publications and certifications Aligning with Firm's projects and comfortably interacting with all levels of staff and customers Maintaining a professional demeanour at all times Interchanging functions with other departments to transfer knowledge and skills Demonstrating excellent organisational skills and maintaining an organised inventory of equipment, supplies, and cabling




Qualifications and skills




Over 5 years of hands-on experience with audio/visual equipment, including Control Systems, DSPs, Audio Distribution, Touch Panels, Virtual TPs, and Cisco Codecs & Infrastructure Preferred certifications: CTS, and experience with Creston Control Systems and TMS/MCU Proficient with PCs and Macs in a LAN environment, Windows and Mac OSX, and basic networking Advanced knowledge of IP, SIP, and ISDN video conferencing protocols College degree or equivalent work experience Strong multitasking abilities and capable of working in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication, customer service, follow-up, and organisational skills Exceptional problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills with a creative approach Ambitious, motivated team player who can grasp new concepts quickly Detail-oriented, willing to learn, with excellent interpersonal skills and patience Ability to lift or move equipment as needed Willingness and ability to travel as required

Location & Reporting




This role is based in our London office and reports to the Director, Technology Support. This role will operate on a shift pattern, with a requirement for 5 days in the office.
