An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled and ambitious Audit Manager to join a leading and fast growing independent firm, specialising in agriculture & farming, not-for-profit (NFP), and corporate clients. As the firm continues to expand (including a new office in the Peterborough area), they are looking for someone to lead and grow the audit function, managing a diverse portfolio and delivering high quality audit services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
As Audit Manager, you will:
Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion across agriculture, farming, estates, NFP, and corporate clients.
Ensure audits are performed in accordance with relevant standards (UK-GAAP, FRS 102, IFRS, ISA) and regulatory / statutory requirements.
Act as a senior point of contact for clients: building trusted relationships, understanding their business, responding to queries (clients, HMRC etc.), and advising on technical and commercial issues.
Supervise, mentor and develop more junior audit staff: allocate work, review outputs, conduct appraisals, give feedback.
Oversee the preparation of statutory and management accounts as required.
Monitor audit budgets, work in progress (WIP), billing, profit margins, ensuring timely delivery of audit files and completion of accounts.
Maintain continuing technical competence: stay up to date with accounting & auditing standards, sector developments (especially agriculture/farming/NFP), and contribute to technical support internally.
Support Partners in business development: identifying opportunities for non-audit advisory work, proposals, cultivating new client relationships.
Assist with quality control, risk management, ensuring the firm's audit processes are robust, consistent and compliant.
Essential Requirements
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Significant experience in external audit within a practice environment.
Strong experience working with a mix of clients including.
Sound technical knowledge of auditing & accounting standards applicable in the UK.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; able to present technical issues clearly to clients and internal teams.
Leadership skills: ability to manage, inspire and develop a team.
Commercial awareness: budgeting, profitability, client service.
