Job Title:

Automatic Door Engineer

Reports to:

Engineering Supervisor

Location:

Head Office is in South Shields, however the role is Regional.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic doors in a variety of commercial settings. As an Automatic Door Engineer, you will ensure that all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation:

Install automatic door systems, including sliding, swing, and revolving doors, ensuring proper setup and functionality according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.

Maintenance & Repairs:

Perform routine maintenance and repair services on automatic doors, including troubleshooting issues with sensors, motors, and electronic controls.

System Testing:

Conduct thorough testing and adjustments of automatic doors to ensure proper operation, including checking safety features, sensors, and door alignment.

Customer Interaction:

Liaise with customers to explain issues, repairs, and new installations in a clear and professional manner. Provide excellent customer service and support during all stages of the process.

Compliance:

Ensure all installations and repairs are carried out in compliance with local safety regulations and industry standards.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of work completed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience:

Proven experience working with automatic door systems is essential.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical components and door control systems.

Certification:

Relevant certifications to support your experience.

Driving License:

A full, clean driving license is required as the role involves traveling to various sites.

Customer Service:

Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
