Lead Door Engineer - Installation, Repair, and Maintenance



We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled

Lead Engineer

to take responsibility for the installation, repair, servicing, and commissioning of Industrial Doors, Roller Shutters, Sectional Doors, Fire Shutters, Loading Bays, Gates, Barriers, Automatic Entrance Systems, and Garage Doors.

You will act as the senior engineer on-site, overseeing job quality, mentoring fitters' mates, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This role involves regional work across

Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham

, with occasional travel further afield . Accommodation and meals are provided when staying away.

Key Responsibilities



Lead installations, servicing, and repairs of industrial doors, gates, barriers, loading bays, automatic doors, and garage doors. Carry out site surveys, job assessments, risk evaluations, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations. Oversee fitters' mates and junior engineers, offering guidance, training, and support. Ensure all work meets DHF, manufacturer, and company standards. Manage van stock, tools, and equipment, keeping everything organised and in safe working order. Complete work reports, commissioning sheets, and digital job updates accurately. Communicate with customers professionally, providing clear explanations and product knowledge. Promote and maintain the company's values and high service standards on every site.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience



Minimum 5 years' experience

in industrial door installation, repair, servicing, and maintenance. Must be based in the

Leeds area

or within a reasonable commuting distance.

DHF Level 2 Industrial & Garage Doors qualification - essential.

DHF Level 2 Powered Gates & Barriers qualification - essential.

Relevant Automatic Entrance qualification (such as ADSA EN16005 or equivalent) - essential.

Strong technical understanding of all door and gate systems. Full UK driving licence. CSCS card and certifications such as PASMA, IPAF, Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness, and Manual Handling (preferred). Ability to work independently as the lead operative on-site.
