We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our growing team delivering design, engineering, and manufacturing solutions for some of the world's most exclusive and ultra-premium car programmes.
Our team of Design Engineers, reporting to our Chief Engineers, are deeply involved in initial scoping, design, development and management of a range of design engineering solutions key to delivering ultra-premium programmes for some of the world's most exclusive automotive brands.

About TECNIQ
TECNIQ are a creative, technology-driven design, engineering, and manufacturing business.
We develop and produce vehicle body structures and interior trim for the ultra-exclusive, ultra-high-value automotive sector. We are partners on premium, low-volume programmes for luxury global automotive brands such as Mercedes-AMG, McLaren, Ford GT, Aston Martin, Pininfarina, Gordon Murray and many more on such vehicles as, amongst others, the Mercedes AMG-ONE, Pininfarina's Battista and Aston Martin's Valkyrie Pro.
We deliver all aspects of design, engineering, testing and manufacture from a single facility. This vertical integration represents considerable supply chain benefits to our customers and a broad working environment for our teams.
In addition we deliver full vehicle development, including chassis and powertrain, to high net-worth heritage racers via our heritage racing division, ADP Classic Racing. We restore and rebuild high-end classic racing cars, prepare drivers, manage a programme of touring and racing, and provide full event support.
Roles and responsibilities
The role holder will:
Design components and module level to meet cost targets while achieving challenging performance attributes and the lowest feasible weight.
Design fixtures/tooling for the manufacture of the components.
Manage interface with styling.
Report to the Senior Chief Engineer responsible for the project.
Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials or products.
Provide technical design support for car build (prototype and production).
Liaise with suppliers, Manufacturing, Engineering and Purchasing teams.
Represent the department in design reviews and during test and development activities if required.
Engineering responsibility (including design and release) of full vehicle interior systems: fascia, tunnel, restraints, instrument and controls, lower and rear trim, upper trim, closure trim.
Provide support to the team, offering guidance and advice when needed.
Skills and qualifications
The role holder will:
Have 3 years experience, or more, in the continual use of Catia V5.
Have extensive experience using Generative Shape Design, Part Design and Assembly Design.
Have a minimum of 5 years experience in the automotive sector, preferably within the area of interiors.
Have an experience of exterior, an advantage.
Have knowledge of tool design.
Possess knowledge of carbon lay-up knowledge, an advantageous but not essential.
Have experience in the development of module packaging.
Be able to develop both part and tool drawings.
Maintain a flexible and adaptable approach to changing requirements at short notice.
Have good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
Maintain the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Maintain a professional, accountable, proactive, and helpful attitude at all times.
Maintain the ability and maturity to give and receive feedback constructively and negotiate with colleagues harmoniously.
Experience
Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical engineering discipline.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role

Monday to Friday, 8am until 4:30pm
Please note this is an office-based role working at our Witham Engineering Office.
Overtime
Please note, overtime is available (dependent upon successfully completing probation and the requirements of the business).
