This role will play a vital part in ensuring that all post-certification changes align with relevant international regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of EV propulsion systems and applicable regulatory frameworks across global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Review:
Evaluate post-certification change requests to BEV propulsion systems, ensuring compliance with relevant EV safety and performance regulations.
Risk Assessment Oversight:
Review and contribute to risk assessments related to hardware and software changes in BEV propulsion components, particularly focusing on battery and EDU systems.
Regulation Assessment:
Analyze technical content of engineering change requests against current regulations, standards, and homologation requirements.
Technical Reporting:
Create and maintain clear, concise summary slide packs of calibration or system changes for internal review and external submission as needed.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with calibration engineers, certification teams, system designers, and legal/regulatory affairs to ensure regulatory alignment across programs.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth knowledge of key EV propulsion regulations, such as:
Battery Safety & Performance:
UNECE R100, FMVSS No. 305a, GTR No. 22
Charging Systems:
ISO 15118, IEC 61851, AC/DC infrastructure standards
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC):
UNECE R10
EDU Performance & Safety Standards
Understanding of global certification processes and regulatory approval pathways for EV systems.
Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data and regulatory texts.
Proficiency in developing technical summaries and communicating compliance issues to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline.
Prior experience in regulatory compliance, certification, or homologation within an automotive or EV-focused environment.
Familiarity with product development lifecycle and change control processes in a regulated environment.
