We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team at our Independant Garage. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing & repairs, cambelt, clutches & timing chains replacements. We mainly work on vehicles from the VAG range but work on a variety makes and models. Duties
Conduct thorough diagnostics using schematics and dealership quality software to identify vehicle issues
Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, clutches, cambelts, timing chains and electrical systems
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs efficiently and safely
Assemble and disassemble vehicle components with precision, ensuring proper fit and function
Repair or replace faulty parts, to restore vehicle performance
Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and addressing client concerns
Assist with equipment repair and maintenance to ensure workshop tools are in optimal condition
Engage in heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or equipment, adhering to safety protocols
Requirements
Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or similar role with strong mechanical knowledge including formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent), VAG experience desirable
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools
Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and routine maintenance procedures
Ability to perform equipment repair and troubleshooting effectively
Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
Valid UK driving licence
