We are looking for an

AWS Network Security Engineer , Edinburgh (Contract , FTC , 12 Months, Hybrid)

with deep expertise in designing, deploying, and managing complex cloud-based network security architectures. The ideal candidate will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for implementing and optimizing

Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)

within our AWS environment. This role will play a critical part in strengthening our security posture and ensuring seamless, secure integration across cloud and on-premises systems.

Key Skills : -

Possess 5+ years of experience in network security engineering, preferably within cloud environments. Architect, deploy, and maintain Cisco ISE within AWS cloud environments. Design secure VPC architectures, including subnetting, routing, network segmentation, and security controls. Implement and manage AWS security services (IAM, Security Groups, NACLs, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, AWS Config). Integrate Cisco ISE with AWS-native services and on-prem systems for identity and access control. Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with internal and industry security standards. Automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools. Monitor network traffic, logs, and security events to detect and respond to incidents. Maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, security policies, and operational procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, Applications) to support secure integration. Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Demonstrate hands-on experience with AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect). Have proven experience deploying and managing Cisco ISE. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, TACACS+, routing, and switching protocols. Experience with firewalls, VPNs, endpoint security, and network access control solutions. Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies. Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Security - Specialty, CCNP Security, CISSP.
