Join a leading North East Solar PV installer as we scale our commercial operations. We are seeking a high-calibre

Business Development Manager

to dominate the commercial renewables market.

This is a

"standing start" hunter role

designed for a specialist who doesn't wait for the phone to ring. You will be the architect of our commercial growth, responsible for the full sales lifecycle--from aggressive cold-prospecting and market mapping to closing high-value industrial and commercial contracts. We provide the technical expertise and the Tier-1 platform; you provide the drive, the strategy, and the autonomous lead generation required to dominate the regional market.

Cramlington headquarters

, you won't be chained to a desk. You will have the autonomy to be out in the field, meeting decision-makers and business owners across the North East. This role is for a professional who thrives on the variety of strategic planning in the office and high-stakes, face-to-face negotiation on-site. Responsibilities



Self-Generate Pipeline:

Proactively identify and qualify B2B Solar PV leads through cold outreach, networking, and market mapping (no reliance on inbound leads).

Field Presence:

Travel extensively across the North East and the UK to conduct site visits, deliver presentations, and build face-to-face rapport with decision-makers.

Full Sales Lifecycle:

Manage the journey from the first "cold" contact through to the technical survey and final contract signing. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and networking Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet client needs Manage sales pipelines effectively using CRM software Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and market trends Attend industry events and conferences to promote the organisation's services Assist in the development of strategic plans to expand the organisation's market presence Identify suitable

roof-mounted and ground-mounted solar

installations Prepare clear, commercial proposals showing

energy savings, ROI and payback

Work closely with technical and delivery teams to ensure projects are viable Attend industry events and networking opportunities Maintain and report on a structured

sales pipeline


Skills



Proven experience in sales generation and/or business development roles, preferably within the solar or renewables sector. Proficiency in CRM software for managing client information and sales pipelines Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal Ability to analyse market data and generate actionable insights Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving targets Knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscape is advantageous
You must be able to demonstrate a successful track record of cold-prospecting and self-generating a pipeline in a B2B environment (evidence of this will be required).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Freelance

Pay: 45,000.00-55,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 38 per week
