We are looking for a driven and commercially sharp Business Development Manager to help accelerate our growth.

About the Role:



As a

Solar BDM

, you will be responsible for generating, managing, and closing commercial solar opportunities across the UK. You'll work closely with our in-house solar designers, QS team, and operations to deliver exceptional technical and commercial proposals.

Key Responsibilities:



Identify, build, and manage a pipeline of commercial solar and battery opportunities. Conduct site surveys, client meetings, and energy assessments. Work with internal designers to produce proposals, ROI modelling, and financial analysis. Present CEMA's solar solutions to senior decision-makers and boards. Hit monthly revenue and margin targets with full pipeline visibility. Build long-term relationships with key clients and partners. Attend industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. Collaborate effectively with sales, engineering, installation, and project management teams to streamline project execution. Contribute to the preparation of proposals, technical documentation, and bill of materials (BOMs). Maintain CRM accuracy and weekly reporting. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in solar technology, materials, and industry trends within the UK market.

What we are looking for



Essential



Proven B2B consultative sales experience (solar experience preferred but

not essential

if you're a strong technical BDM). Understanding of commercial energy systems, payback analysis, and ROI conversations. Strong presentation skills and the ability to speak confidently with MDs, FDs, and board-level contacts. Self-motivated, organised, and driven to exceed targets. A Full UK driving licence

Desirable



Experience selling commercial solar PV (50kW-1MW+). Knowledge of G99, grid requirements, and system design principles. Experience with BESS, LED, or EV charging solutions.
