'Baby Room' Room Leader (Children in this room are aged 0-2 years old)



Salary: Up to 14/hour depending on experience



Working week



46-55 hours, Monday - Friday, hours to be confirmed
To work as an effective member of an early year's team delivering a flexible, high quality, education and care centred service that meets the needs of the young children and their families. We are based on a farm and you will need to be able to reliably get here each day.

Our Room Leaders are experienced practitioners committed to developing their knowledge and skills in the field of early years education. They have proven ability in the field of early years education and are excellent team players who are able to learn from and commit to a close working relationship with their Setting Manager and their colleagues. They can take direction and are also good at supporting staff in the development of their practice. They are able to confidently lead a team of staff to ensure a high level of education and care is being delivered consistently throughout their room.

Duties will include:

To support the Management Team to ensure the highest standards of early years care and education across the setting To maintain an organised, safe and stimulating room environment To support and inspire your team of practitioners Complete the induction of new colleagues Be the senior practitioner in the room and have a sound knowledge of the nursery pedagogy, policies and procedures, lead by example and model good practice Be comfortable working with children aged 0-2 years old Manage the room to ensure operational compliance to the EYFS and other regulatory frameworks Create and maintain a stimulating environment that reflects children's needs and interests Be the person in charge if the Manager and Deputy Manager are absent and ensure that day to day functions such as staffing, answering enquiries, and interacting with parents. Carry out day to day functions within the room to support appropriate staff deployment and a fair and effective distributions of duties and responsibilities Complete all room records accurately and according to deadlines Support the Manager and Deputy Manager in the delivering of supervisions Ensure each child is treated as an individual in the assessment and meeting of their needs Ensure children's academic progress and personal development is assessed and reported to parents in accordance with the Early Years Statutory Framework, nursery policies and procedures Implement and monitor the planning of appropriate activities that develop all aspects of children's learning Promote positive home/school links through daily interactions with parents and carers, and the use of online learning journeys Attend staff meetings and inset sessions, parent information sessions and setting functions as appropriate, including marketing events and activities that may run during the evening or at the weekend

Desired skills



A minimum Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent Proven ability as a practitioner within a childcare setting Enthusiasm and initiative A proven ability for teamwork Detailed knowledge the EYFS guidelines Organisational ability A passion for child-centered education An ability to interact confidently and effectively with parents A commitment to continued professional development and growth A clear understanding of safeguarding and SEN provision Experience in leading a team of staff is preferred, but not essential

Things to consider



We are based on a farm, so you will need suitable clothing (Wellies etc.) and will also need to be able to arrange your own transport, as we are not particularly near any public transport.

Pay: 13.40-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 46 - 55 per week
