We are seeking an experienced Baker to join our bakery team producing home bakes, afternoon teas and puddings to supply our busy restaurant, retail space and to local businesses.
Duties will include:
Baking scones fresh each day including speciality scones
Maintaining fresh stock of a variety of tray bakes
Baking and decorating a range of cakes
Bringing fresh ideas to our cake cabinet
Baking and decorating a range of sweet treats from empire biscuits to brownies, meringues and more from scratch
Baking and serving puddings daily of sticky toffee, cheesecakes plus regular specials
Keeping the cake cabinet presentable and filled with fresh bakes throughout the day
Keeping labelling of foods clear with dates and allergen information
Managing stock levels rotation to ensure quality
Preparing baked goods and packaging for retailing in our shop and to local businesses each day
Organising and preparing afternoon teas and funeral teas including large group bookings such as coach parties to be served on time
Assisting with breakfast service preparing croissants, waffles and pancakes
Person specification
Be positive and calm under pressure, have good attention to detail especially in relation to presentation of bakes, food safety & hygiene.
Candidates should have a passion for baking with a can-do attitude. The successful candidate will have ability to follow Threaplands recipes whilst calling upon own experience to add new bakes to our range. We are seeking a candidate who wishes to provide the perfect customer experience first time every time and strives for continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have experience in all bakery disciplines being able to produce consistent quality home bakes.
Experience baking bread would be beneficial but not essential.
Qualifications
Candidates would benefit from a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and knowledge of commercial kitchens but training and qualifications in this area can be given.
Must have experience in a similar role and be able to work without supervision, baking our recipes to perfection for our regular customers.
Roughly 30-40 hours each week starting at 7 a.m.
