Overview

We're a small, local cafe looking for a creative, hands-on Baker / Cook to take a leading role in our bakery and kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves baking and cooking and wants to experiment and develop new ideas in a welcoming, friendly environment.

In this role, you'll have genuine creative freedom in the bakery, developing bakes and seasonal products that reflect the time of year and delight our customers. You'll also prepare and cook light cafe meals, working alongside our small team to keep everything running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading daily bakery production: preparation, baking, and presentation

Creating and developing seasonal bakery items, specials, and new bakes

Preparing and cooking light cafe meals and dishes

Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.

Monitoring stock levels, ordering ingredients, and minimising waste

Ensuring consistent quality across all baked goods and cooked items

Working alongside the cafe team to deliver a warm, welcoming customer experience

Taking pride in the bakery and kitchen spaces and setting a positive example on shift

What We're Looking For

Experience in baking, cooking, or kitchen-based roles

Experience in cafes, bakeries, hospitality, or similar environments

A creative mindset with the confidence to experiment with bakery ideas and seasonal bakes

Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

Organised, reliable, and comfortable working in a busy environment

A positive, team-focused attitude with good communication skills

Barista experience is a bonus, but not essential
