We are seeking a reliable and efficient Delivery Driver to join our team. You will work from the early morning (around 5.30am) until lunchtime Monday-Friday, delivering our bakery products. We provide a van for you to drive - you will need a full manual driving licence. The job requires the ability to lift and carry loads throughout the day. You must be well presented and willing to go the extra mile as our customers trust us to deliver quality from start to finish. You must have a positive "can do" approach to all aspects of your work. Personal hygiene and being a tidy, organised person will be important as you will be working near a food production area and handling ready to eat foods.
We manage the stock levels in store for many of our customers. So you will build a relationship with each customer, learn which products sell well in their stores, and make adjustments to orders to anticipate future sales or account for stock that remains in their stores. You will keep accurate records of deliveries and returns, deliver invoices and handle cash payments.
Duties
Packing the goods in the delivery vehicle in an organised manner that matches the order of deliveries.
Driving safely in various weather conditions performing regular maintenance checks on delivery vans and reporting any issues.
Interacting with clients professionally.
Adjusting orders at the point of delivery to ensure that each shop has the appropriate level of stock
Accurately recording deliveries and returns, handling and correctly recording any cash payments.
Successful applicants will need to have a
full UK driving licence.
Collaborate with bakery staff to organise deliveries efficiently, ensuring that all items are ready for dispatch.
Skills
Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong customer service skills, and comfortable speaking with local businesses.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the job.
Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices.
Attention to detail, and ability to keep accurate records
Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members.
Ability to navigate routes effectively, utilising maps or GPS systems as needed.
