Job Overview

We are looking for a Bakery Assistant to join our Saturday team at the end of January 2026.

The successful candidate will support daily bakery sales operations at the front of house, assist with the preparation of baked goods, and ensure a welcoming environment for customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about customer service to develop their skills within a friendly, fast-paced environment.

Duties

Greet and serve customers with a friendly and positive attitude. Provide customers with information about our products, including details about ingredients and preparation methods. Accurate cash handling operations. Assist in the preparation of bakery good, including packaging, labelling and displaying products as per company guidelines. Finishing of certain baked good ranges such as but not limited to, making sausage rolls, decorating iced buns/gingerbread and portioning bakes to established company guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the shop, including sanitising countertops, equipment, sweeping/mopping the floor and general tidying. Restock products and supplies as needed. Follow all health and safety, and food safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Work closely with the bakery team to ensure a seamless operation and high level of customer satisfaction.

Skills

Previous experience in a retail, customer service and or hospitality desirable. Strong and confident communication skills. A passion and enthusiasm for the business and artisan baking. Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. Basic understanding of maths for cash handling and inventory tasks. Flexibility to working hours and being comfortable with early hour starts, working weekends and holidays.

Working Hours.

Every Saturday - 6:00am - 14:30pm.

Other adhoc work available as per the needs of the business.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 8 per week
