We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and a keen interest in baking and cooking. As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that high-quality products are prepared and presented to our customers. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and baking of various bakery items, including bread, pastries, and cakes. Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency and quality of products. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times. Support the head baker in managing inventory levels of ingredients and supplies. Assist with the decoration and presentation of baked goods for display. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and customer demands. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a bakery or kitchen environment is preferred but not essential. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. A passion for baking, cooking, and food preparation is highly desirable. Flexibility to work varying shifts as required by the bakery's operational needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday Weekend availability
Work Location: In person
