Band 3 Overseas Visitors Administrative Assistant

Job Description

Responsible for providing administrative and finance support to the Overseas Visitors Team including prompt and accurate invoicing of monies owed to the trust in accordance with trust policy and procedures. To act as point of contact for the team and for matters relating to information requests and investigation of payment disputes. To ensure accurate data recording and record keeping for Overseas Visitors, to deal with queries from patients, their representatives and insurers and to enter details of patient costs to the DH portal for EHIC and S2 claims. To provide monthly data of information to the DH Claims Recovery Unit, updating and reconciling the trust's system for recording amounts due and received.
Main duties of the job

  • To invoice patients and insurance companies for the treatment charges of NHS Overseas Visitors.
  • To respond to queries by telephone, in writing and in person from NHS Visitors or insurers in respect to charges raised, including requests for information, provision of documentation, payment and instalment plans.
  • To liaise with the PPU Credit Control team to respond to requests for information or documentation to assist credit control processes.
  • To process details of Overseas Visitors treated under the provision of EHIC and S2 documentation through the DH portal entering accurate details of costs to ensure income is received.
  • To liaise with the Home Office, using both the Home Office telephone line and Evidence and Enquiry Service.
