A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 or above Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in adult neurology and complex care.
We require an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to manage a caseload for a range of clients with acquired disorders within an inpatient rehabilitation facility.
This post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop and consolidate skills and knowledge across a broad range of client groups with acquired disorders of speech, language and dysphagia.
The post holder will work within a large and dynamic multidisciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants and a designated speech and language therapy assistant within the team.
The post holder will have receive supervision from a Consultant Speech and Language therapist. There will also be an opportunity to complete or enhance dysphagia competencies/formal training.
Essential:
Have as a minimum a degree, post graduate or Professional Qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
Hold a current registration with the HCPC
Have a person centred ethos, showing empathy and a desire to make a difference
Be able to demonstrate initiative and creativity
Be flexible and adaptable, well organised and able to manage time and workload effectively in line with the needs of the service
A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Competent in Microsoft
Good decision making and problem solving skills.
Delegate to junior staff and therapy assistants
Good team player

Care is fully supported on site with Enablers, Care Managers, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants, Speech and Language Therapist and Activities coordinator, onsite Pharmacy. The team works within a multidisciplinary environment and provides long and short term rehabilitation service as well as medical and respiratory treatments.
