Job Description

As an autonomous practitioner, to be responsible for the provision of a highly specialist,

evidence based vascular and amputee therapy service.

To have operational and line management responsibility for a team of therapists To have clinical supervision responsibility for one or more therapists and therapy

assistants.

To be responsible for the continuing development of a highly specialist proactive

therapy service, providing expert advice and guidance for other healthcare

professionals.

To lead on the development and implementation of high quality, multi-professional

education and training programmes within the Trust.

To participate in research and development by initiating, planning and undertaking

clinical audits/research projects to evaluate and develop the specialist therapy service

and produce evidence-based resources, policies and guidelines and support other staff

to do this.

To support staff with service development in order to ensure provision of a high quality,

patient-centred and clinically effective service.



We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join the Vascular & Amputee team. With the support from a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist, you will be providing clinical leadership and specialist therapy to the vascular and amputee service. You will be working with people pre and post operatively in a dynamic and experienced MDT , consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants. The role will include line management and supervision of more junior staff.



We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who has experience of working in a physical acute hospital setting, has excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. We are looking for someone with an interest in service development and quality improvement, working alongside the wider MDT to improve services for our patients.
