Job Overview


Support the Production Shift Leaders by carrying out production activities across the bandage, knitting and weaving areas, ensuring that breakdowns or running issues are reported to the Production Shift Leader and Production Technicians as appropriate. Provide support, training and guidance for new and training operatives on operation of machinery and ways of working to promote safe working practices whilst maximising efficiency. Propose improvements to machinery, layout, working practices and methodology to maximise production efficiencies in line with our continuous improvement culture. These activities will require good communication skills and a strong sense of team work and a good work ethic.

Duties


The post holder will support the delivery of the Production Team's key objectives through activities which include but are not limited to the following: Rotating shift pattern 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm & 10pm-6am.

Production & Maintenance



Convert raw materials into semi-finished goods following agreed processes and practices to maximise efficiencies and minimise costs.

Use relevant machinery (bandage knitting machines & bandage weaving machines.) safely and effectively reporting any machine issues promptly and appropriately

Deal with machine stoppages, material replenishment and re-threading of machinery

Demonstrate speed and dexterity when dealing with yarn related machine stoppage and re-threading of machinery with excellent attention to detail

Escalate breakdowns to the Bandage Knitting & Weaving Technicians or Production Shift Leader as required to minimise down time

Escalate any material supply issues to the Production Shift Leader as required

Engage in routine maintenance tasks in line with your capabilities and the expectations of the role

Engage in machine cleaning tasks in line with your capabilities and the expectations of the role

Conduct regular quality checks and ensure that any issues are escalated to the Production Shift Leader in a timely manner

Provide samples for testing as required by the Quality Team

Demonstrate a flexible attitude, moving work location and changing activities in line with business needs

Ensure that the product being manufactured meets the high quality standards expected by our Team and our Customers

Ensure that production is completed in an efficient manner with the lowest possible waste

Demonstrate excellent communication skills whilst positively engaging with other Production Team Members and the wider business

Promote a positive team spirit

Share best practice and contribute to continuous improvement activities

Suggest improvements to existing processes and procedures

Promote the reduction of energy consumption in the workplace

Reduce, reuse and recycle materials where possible and where necessary to dispose of materials carefully to ensure Company compliance with legal obligations

Qualifications


Due to the flexibility of working hours required, must be able to travel to work without using public transport.

Job Type: Full-time
