We are seeking a reliable and motivated Bandsaw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating a bandsaw machine to cut materials according to production schedules and specifications. This is a hands-on role where safety, precision, and efficiency are paramount. The successful candidate will also be tasked with organising steel material deliveries and kitting area to assist with the efficient job and material flow through our Workshop.
Responsibilities
Operate and set up bandsaw machines to cut materials - adjust cutting speed, feeds, and guides according to material thickness and type.
Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
Perform regular quality checks to ensure all cut components meet the required quality standards and specifications.
Organise steel deliveries and assist with the stock and storage of materials within the manufacturing department.
Organise the kitting area; working with the Workshop Engineering Manager to ensure requirements of the department are met with regards to material flow through the workshop.
Ensure that all company health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Essential Experience required for this role
Experience within a similar position - competent in safely operating a bandsaw
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Strong organisational skills
Salary
17/hour - Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
Overtime available and paid at time and a half
