Job Description

Anticipate clinician needs and support patients during dental treatment. Responding to individual patients needs and provide pre- and post-operative instruction when needed, ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained. Prepare the dental surgery and temporary clinical environments outside of clinical areas for use, ensuring the use of personal protective equipment as defined by Trust Infection Prevention guidelines. Ensure correct clean instruments and equipment, x-rays, records and electronic records are available to the clinician prior to treatment.

Provide clinical support for Inhalation and Intra-Venous sedation clinics - additional training will be provided if necessary. Follow local rules and Trust policies, including Infection Prevention, radiography and waste disposal and undertake the decontamination of dental instruments complying with HTM: 01-05 guidelines to ensure patient safety, safe handling of sharps, drugs, harmful corrosive materials, waste mercury /amalgams and clinical waste.
