We are seeking a compassionate and dependable

Bank Care Assistant

to join our team at The Willow--a small, family-run residential care home in Chesham. With just 11 residents, our focus is on delivering truly personalised, high-quality care in a warm and homely environment. As a Bank Care Assistant, you'll provide essential support during staff absences or busy periods, helping to ensure continuity of care and a familiar, friendly face for our residents.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with personal care tasks including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming Support residents during mealtimes and help meet individual nutritional needs Encourage residents to engage in social and physical activities, respecting their choices and abilities Maintain accurate daily records and promptly report any concerns to senior care staff Promote and safeguard the dignity, privacy, and well-being of all residents Follow all infection prevention, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures Work collaboratively with colleagues to implement personalised care plans and ensure continuity of care Maintain a clean, calm, and safe living environment for all residents

Skills

Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written Empathy, patience, and a person-centred approach to care Ability to follow care plans and report changes in condition accurately Basic IT skills (familiarity with or willingness to learn electronic care planning systems) Attention to detail and strong time management Flexible and responsive to the needs of the home (including weekend and evening availability)

Requirements

Completion of the Care Certificate (or willingness to complete during induction) Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one before starting) Right to work in the UK Previous experience in residential or domiciliary care is desirable Experience with dementia and/or end-of-life care is an advantage but not essential
