We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bank Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to residents in various long-term care and community settings. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized dementia or memory care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare support, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for others.
Duties
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
Support with medication administration and monitoring vital signs in accordance with care plans
Provide patient observation to ensure safety and well-being, reporting any concerns promptly
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal service while adhering to dietary restrictions and care plans
Operate patient lifting equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively
Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through regular cleaning duties
Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality of patient information
Support residents with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's or dementia through engaging activities and supervision
Assist with transportation using appropriate techniques for residents requiring heavy lifting or transfer assistance
Document observations and care provided accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs
Experience
Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, or community care environments preferred
Knowledge of dementia and developmental disabilities beneficial
Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient observation required
Hands-on experience with caregiving tasks such as assisting with ADLs, meal preparation, and light housekeeping preferred
Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable
Background in social work or long-term care settings is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required and work effectively within a team environment
