We're looking for friendly, flexible, and customer-focused Catering Assistants to join our Bank team our hospital at Shepton Mallet. This is a great opportunity to work shifts that fit around your life while playing an important role in delivering a first-class food and beverage service to our patients, staff, and visitors. You'll be part of a supportive team ensuring everyone receives nutritious, high-quality meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

What you'll be doing

As our Bank Catering Assistant, you'll be involved in a variety of tasks across the kitchen, ward, and cafe, including:


Preparing and serving meals to patients, ensuring dietary requirements are met and recorded. Assisting with the preparation of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Keeping kitchen, dining, and cafe areas clean, tidy, and compliant with hygiene standards. Supporting cafe service by preparing light meals, hot drinks, and handling cash. Restocking beverage points, vending machines, and staff rest areas. Reporting equipment faults and helping maintain high food safety and temperature control standards. ###

What we'll look for in you

With your previous customer service experience (experience in catering or healthcare is a bonus, but not essential), you will also have:


Understands or is willing to learn about food hygiene and health & safety requirements. Communicates well, follows instructions, and works effectively in a team. Brings a positive, adaptable, and caring attitude to their work. Is flexible and happy to work a variety of shifts as part of our Bank team.
