During the event you will have the opportunity to meet some of the team and talk to our staff about working for the Trust. You will have a chance to speak with NHFT colleagues and find more about bank nursing opportunities and career progression.



The Community Nursing Team is made up of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, Phlebotomists & Administrators.



If you are currently working in a nursing role and looking to develop your skills in a community setting, then this is the role for you!



On the day:



The team will be running regular presentations and Q&A sessions throughout the event to provide key information on the bank roles available, what the role looks like, what support we provide and how we can support you. These sessions start at 10:30am and will run every hour from 10:30am to 13:30pm.



If you feel this role will be for you, the team on the day will support you in applying for the role and will be able to give you information in relation to interviewing for the positions.

The initial training provided to successful candidates includes all Trust mandatory training and specific training relevant to the role.

Working life



As a Bank Community nurse, you'll



assess the healthcare needs of patients and families



monitor the quality of care they're receiving



be professionally accountable for the delivery of care



utilise technology to enable you to update records as you go



Your patients could be any age, but they'll often be elderly, while others may have been recently discharged from hospital, be terminally ill or have physical disabilities.



The service aims to provide an excellent standard of care that supports patients to remain in their home environment. In Northamptonshire you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the service and focus on delivering quality outcomes and improving the patient experience. You'll play a vital role in keeping hospital admissions and re-admissions to a minimum and ensuring that patients can return to their own homes as soon as possible.



The service core hours are 8am to 6pm, 7 days a week.



Must have skills



You will need to be adaptable and resourceful. You'll need to be well organised, confident and able to cope in diverse situations to deliver patient care. Leadership and management skills are also important, as with all nursing roles, communication skills, problem solving and good judgement are crucial.



You will be part of caring team and be able to work flexibly with minimum supervision, with the ability to prioritise work based on the patient need.
