Key Responsibilities
Provide practical and emotional care to young people in a residential setting
Form positive, trusting relationships that encourage growth and resilience
Support daily routines including meals, education, personal care and activities
Help promote independence, social skills and emotional wellbeing
Follow care plans, safeguarding requirements and behaviour support strategies
Maintain a safe and nurturing environment throughout each shift
Record observations, incidents and updates accurately
Work collaboratively with families, colleagues and external professionals
Travel with young people to support them in community settings when needed
What We Look For
Essential Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people in residential, social care or similar roles
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Resilience, empathy and patience when supporting emotional or challenging situations
Good understanding of safeguarding and professional standards
Flexibility to work a rota including evenings, nights and weekends
Team player mindset with a proactive approach
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent
First Aid training
Experience supporting young people with complex behavioural needs
Full UK driving licence
