We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bank Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in a friendly local care home, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to providing nutritious, balanced, and appealing meals that meet the needs of our residents. The Bank Cook will work collaboratively with dietary and kitchen staff to provide nutritious and appealing meals, adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines
Assist with menu planning to accommodate various dietary restrictions and preferences
Ensure all food handling practices meet safety and sanitation standards
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
Monitor food inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
Collaborate with dietary aides and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service
Support catering functions or special meal requests when required
Serve meals efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Follow all food safety protocols during meal preparation and service
Requirements
Previous experience in a culinary or food service environment, preferably in dietary or healthcare settings
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques including fine dining experience is a plus
Skills in food industry practices such as knife skills, food presentation, and catering are desirable
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Knowledge of dietary requirements and ability to prepare meals that meet specific nutritional needs
Prior experience in restaurant or kitchen environments is preferred
Must be able to pass any required background checks.
Pay: From 15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 - 12 per week
