Job Description

Bradford Care Alliance (BCA) is seeking skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our Bank Workforce, working flexibly across the Enhanced Access Service and other BCA clinical services.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of enhanced hours primary care and other key health projects across Bradford. Working under the supervision of registered practitioners, you will support clinicians in providing safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate must be a trained phlebotomist, confident in performing venepuncture and working within established clinical procedures. You will assist with a range of clinical and administrative tasks, supporting both patients and the multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth service delivery.

Main duties of the job
Bradford Care Alliance (BCA) is seeking experienced and motivated Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our bank workforce, working flexibly across the Enhanced Access Service and other BCA clinical services.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will support clinicians in providing high-quality, patient-centred care during evening and weekend sessions. The role involves assisting with clinical observations, patient support, and administrative duties with a focus on phlebotomy, as all postholders must be trained in venepuncture.

Carry out routine clinical observations (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, weight, etc.) and accurately record results.
Support sample collection, labelling, and safe handling in line with infection control procedures.
Prepare clinical areas before and after clinics, ensuring equipment is clean, safe, and well-stocked.
Act as a chaperone when required during patient consultations or examinations.
Provide patients with health information and lifestyle advice, within scope of practice.
