We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team on a bank basis at HMP Millsike, a brand new state of the art Category C male prison in Full Sutton. HMP Millsike has capacity of nearly 1500 males, and houses inmates within 2 years of their release date. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment, where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more! No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment. Hours: This is a bank role offering flexible hours to cover additional need such as sickness and annual leave Salary: This position is offered on a bank basis and the hourly rate is 15.80 How will we support you?

Main duties of the job
As our new Bank Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times
• Work on the wings and in the healthcare department, running and assisting with clinics - bloods, wound care etc
• Work across all areas of care, including primary care, health promotion, bloods etc
• Respond to emergency situations as needed
• Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc
• Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
• Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

• Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent work experience
• Experience in a healthcare environment - hospital, prison or within the community
• Have experience in phlebotomy, ECGs, wound care etc
• Although not essential, your own vehicle would be beneficial due to the location of the site
