Join Our Award-Winning Charity Retail Team!

Our charity shops are essential in raising vital funds for Birmingham Hospice. The generosity of our donors and shoppers is crucial in supporting our community, allowing more local individuals with terminal diagnoses to receive the specialised end-of-life care they need.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Bank House Clearance/Retail Driver to join our dynamic, award-winning Retail Team working on an as and when required basis.

Reporting to the Retail Logistics and House Clearance Manager, your primary responsibility will be to assist our team with house clearance services on an as-needed basis. Additional duties include moving stock between locations, assessing potential donation ensuring they meet trading standards regulations, PAT testing electrical donations (after training) and provide cover/extra support to other Hospice drivers

By performing these tasks, you will help the Retail team achieve its income targets, ensuring day-to-day operations are carried out to the highest standards and providing excellent customer service to both donors and customers.

Requirements:

Full, clean driving license and the ability to travel to any of our shops or potential donor's houses using hospice commercial vehicles (vans) is essential in this new role, as is the need to be able to lift heavy loads as the role involves extensive lifting.

You will assist the Retail Logistics and House Clearance Manager to ensure that the wider retail department is effectively staffed by covering sick leave, annual leave and supporting staff absence for the existing retail drivers, sometimes at short notice.

You will be passionate, empathetic, organised and motivated

No retail experience is required as we can train you; we just require the drive and determination to do a good job.
