To provide subject matter expertise and guidance to assess the impact of new and emerging bank resolution regulations on Banking entities in SBO, including the identification and delivery of appropriate initiatives to fulfil the overall compliance objectives and mandate of the Function with specific focus on Resolution Planning. Ensure that the business response to high impact regulation is comprehensive and all high priority initiatives are identified, ownership confirmed and delivery followed through.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
First Degree in Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Legal
Experience Required :
Risk and Corporate Affairs
3 - 4 years experience
The role requires an individual with risk management experience within the financial services industry. A thorough understanding of BASEL requirements would be required.
5 - 7 years experience
Experience in a banking accounting / financial reporting/ controlling / risk management / risk reporting / regulatory reporting.
Key Outputs :
Developing, and Maintaining Resolution Capabilities:
Development and maintenance of Bank resolution plans and ensuring capabilities to mitigate applicable Risks to Resolution are implemented in line with relevant Regulatory requirements.
Ensure where required, models, methodologies, and processes, including processes required to onboard external consultants, such as valuers, are maintained.
Governance:
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation supporting the various facets of Resolution risk management, and provide support for governance reporting and regulatory examinations.
Holistic testing of Resolvability capabilities:
Lead the design, execution and assessment of program-level capabilities testing to ensure processes are operating effectively and meet regulatory guidance and expectations. This covers simulations, dry-runs, and maintenance of playbooks among other relevant exercises.
Internal Coordination and Communication:
Working with various business units, corporate functions, governance, and board committees in meeting regulatory requirements against multi-year compliance agendas as agreed with Regulators.
Coordination with prudential and other regulatory interfacing units to ensure alignment of communications and information provided to various regulatory authorities
Regulatory Relationship Management:
Ongoing Regulatory relationship management and communication to provide timely updates on bank resolution activities including delivery of required periodic reporting.
Deliver periodic reporting required in line with guidance notes and policy statements
