About the Role
As a
Bank Youth Worker
, you'll work as part of a dedicated team supporting young people in their daily lives -- helping them to develop independence, build confidence, and achieve their goals. You'll provide emotional and practical support, ensuring each child receives the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
Support young people with daily routines, activities, and personal development
Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
Promote independence, life skills, and healthy lifestyles
Manage and respond to challenging behaviour using a calm, therapeutic approach
Follow care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
Maintain accurate records and contribute to team meetings and handovers
Work collaboratively with colleagues, professionals, and families to ensure the best outcomes
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in a children's residential or care setting (preferred but not essential)
Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young people
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (as required)
Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - desirable
Willingness to complete relevant training if not yet qualified
