Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Banksman to join our construction team. The Banksman plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and vehicles on site. This position requires excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of construction practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with various team members.

Duties

Direct and control the movement of vehicles and machinery on site to ensure safety and efficiency. Communicate clearly with operators and ground staff using hand signals and radios. Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement safety measures. Assist in the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain clear communication with site management regarding any issues or concerns that arise during operations. Ensure that all equipment is operated safely and in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a construction environment is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey instructions clearly in English. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites as required. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to construction sites. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when necessary.
