The Crossbar is delighted to announce that we are seeking a Bar Manager to join our fast-growing community bar.

The Crossbar is part of Chellaston Leisure Ltd, a volunteer led not-for-profit organisation based at the picturesque Chellaston Park. We operate a 7 day a week bar with a small food offering and also host 11 and 5 a side football, cricket and a running club.

Since opening in May 2021, The Crossbar has grown significantly to now be an established venue in Chellaston, hosting regular quiz nights, and live singers.

We are currently recruiting for the right person to lead or jointly lead our brilliant team at our fast growing community bar and sports facilities.

This really is a fantastic role and an opportunity to play a big part in making a massive difference to our local community.

Bar experience is ideal for this role but ultimately it is all about getting the right person and people skills to lead a brilliant team and also a wide ranging customer base.

Ensuring standards and legislation is a vital component, as is continuing and growing the team spirit and fun. You will be involved in shaping the direction but you will also be fully supported throughout.

The role is full time although we will consider part time as a job share with regular weekend work but the days and hours can be negotiable.

The Bar Manager will be an integral part of the front of house operation; hence we are looking for the right person to embrace the friendly spirit of the bar and push standards across the team, someone who can think on their feet, be proactive, committed, enjoy working in a friendly community environment and someone who is able to interact with a variety of people.

Responsibilities...

-Your responsibilities are to make sure our customers are happy; our staff know how to provide great service and that there's plenty of stock behind the bar!

-Manage the team and be part of various events, including two quiz nights a month.

- Every working day, maintain a clean, organised bar and work area to enable the smooth running of the bar.

- At the end of each shift, close down the bar, and ensure the security of the premises.

- Implement and monitor company policies and procedures as well as enforcing health and safety rules.

- Assist with recruitment and training.

- Motivate staff members to ensure consistency continues and our customers receive a premium experience they won't get anywhere else!

This job is for you if you have...

- A background in customer service

- Previous experience within the hospitality sector

- The ability to effectively delegate responsibilities and maximise resources

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of cellar management (not essential)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 14.00-15.00 per hour
