Stourport Tennis and Squash Club is a member's sports and social club, with 6 floodlit tennis courts, 4 indoor squash courts, and a large bar / social / function area.
We are currently recruiting for a bar steward / bar manager, to manage the day to day running of the bar, whilst having the benefit of being able to make day to day changes to increase our customer experience.
Duties will include but are not limited to.
Covering the bars opening ours, currently Monday - Friday 17.00 - 22.00 and Saturday 16.00 - 20.00, which can vary depending on private function bookings.
Organising the beer cellar on a weekly basis ensuring the lines are correctly cleaned (Full training is available), as well as stock is stored correctly ready for sale.
Ensuring the bar area is clean and tidy, cleaning the tables after each customer visit, replacing beer mats and tidying furniture.
Ordered required stock on a weekly basis, including large wholesale orders, and local order from local ale suppliers, ensuring we are adequately stocked for the next week.
Reporting on a weekly basis the weekly takings.
Reporting monthly the progression of the bar to the committee.
Working closely with the committee on upcoming and future events, supporting with bookings and the preparation for these events.
Weekly cleaning of the clubhouse, and club facilities.
Organising and managing additional staff when required for large functions and events.
Organising and managing catering for functions and events, including team matches.
Creating a welcoming and friendly environment.
Progressing to providing food service to both members on different club and social nights, as well as offering catering services for internal and external bookings.
The ideal candidate
We are looking for someone who has previous bar stewardship experience / bar management experience, who is passionate about quality and service, and who offers a great experience to our customers.
As a club we are ambitious and we know the bar's growth can continue to support the club, and as a result we are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude, who also can make suggestions for improvement and help continue to drive the growth of the bar facility.
