Join our team at The Steam Room, a beloved Harborne coffee shop that transforms into a cocktail bar on Friday and Saturday evenings.

We're seeking a skilled and charismatic Mixologist/Cocktail Bar Person to craft exceptional drinks, elevate the guest experience, and contribute to our unique day-to-night atmosphere. If you're passionate about mixology and love engaging with customers, we'd love to meet you!

Key Responsibilities

:

Cocktail Preparation & Service

: Create high-quality cocktails, from classics to signature drinks, adhering to recipes and presentation standards. Serve a range of beverages, including beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options.

Customer Engagement

: Provide warm, professional service, recommending drinks, explaining cocktail ingredients, and creating a welcoming vibe for guests. Handle special requests and dietary preferences (e.g., low/no-alcohol options).

Bar Operations

: Set up and break down the bar area, ensuring cleanliness and organization. Manage stock levels and maintain a tidy workspace in line with health and safety regulations.

Menu Collaboration

: Work with management to develop seasonal or themed cocktail menus, incorporating local ingredients or trends to enhance the evening experience.

Coffee Shop Support

: Barista experience and willingness to cover the occasional coffee shop shift would be an advantage.

Compliance

: Adhere to licensing laws, including age verification, and maintain hygiene standards (e.g., food safety, allergen awareness).

Requirements

Experience

: Experience as a mixologist or bartender with knowledge of cocktail recipes, mixology techniques, and bar equipment is a must.

Skills

: Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask during busy evening shifts. Creativity in drink presentation and menu ideas.

Availability

: Must be available for Friday and Saturday evening shifts (approx. 6-8 hours per shift). Flexibility for occasional holiday or special event shifts is a plus.
Interviews will include a practical mixology demonstration.

References must be provided.
