Bar Supervisor - Alnmouth Village Golf Club

(Golf Knowledge Essential)

Alnmouth Village GC is the Oldest 9 Hole Links Course in England and is open to Members / Visitors and Non-Playing Guests all year round. It has a busy clubhouse bar, regular society days, member events and visiting golfers. The Bar Supervisor will help deliver excellent food and beverage service, lead the bar team on shift, and provide a warm, knowledgeable welcome to all golfers and guests.

Key responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day bar operations, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness and presentation. Lead and support bar staff on shift, including task allocation, coaching and maintaining a positive team culture. Serve drinks and food efficiently and professionally, engaging with members and guests to enhance their clubhouse experience. Manage stock on shift, including ordering to par levels, stock rotation, waste control and assisting with stocktakes. Ensure all cash and card handling, till procedures and end-of-day reports are completed accurately. Maintain compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and food hygiene standards. Work with the Club Manager to deliver a high standard golf check in experience to Members, Visitors and Societies. Use BRS Booking system to check golfers in and book Tee Times for Visitors. Use knowledge of golf (tee times, competitions, etiquette) to anticipate busy periods, support the Golf Team and enhance member/visitor engagement.
Skills and experience

Previous experience in a bar or hospitality supervisory role (golf club, hotel, or similar venue preferred). Strong people skills with the ability to lead a small team and deliver friendly, consistent service. Confident handling busy periods, events and changes in demand. Good numeracy and accuracy with tills, cashing up and stock. Sound knowledge of bar service, including draught beers, wines, spirits and basic cocktails. Genuine interest in golf, with understanding of common terms, formats and clubhouse etiquette. Previous BRS usage is preferable. Reliable, well-presented, and able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and event days.
Hours, pay and benefits

Hourly Pay typically 40 hours per week, including possible evenings and weekends. Bar Opening Hours 8:30am - 4pm (Nov-Mar) 8:30am - 9pm (Apr-Oct). 13.50 p/h, plus Monthly Tips, Annual Bonus, Complementary Staff Golf Membership. Staff meals on duty and uniform provided.
