We are looking for Bar Supervisors to join the Freight Manchester team, paying
14.00 per hour
. You will need to be available to work Thursday - Sunday.
Located in the heart of the Depot, Mayfield amongst the historical industrial architecture lies a cultural hub of food, drink & entertainment - multi-vendor, multifaceted & multidimensional, where people meet to form new memories & explore new possibilities. An urban oasis, blurring the lines between a food hall and a festival, Freight's unique set up reflects the times. A 2500 capacity venue with 8 bars and 12 food vendors, it provides a safe and comfortable environment where guests can enjoy delicious food, great drinks, and live entertainment without any worries.
You MUST have weekend availability and Bar Supervisor experience in a volume environment to be considered.
As a Bar Supervisor, you will be an integral part of the bar leadership team, working closely with the Bar Managers to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our bars. You'll lead from the front, supporting and guiding the bar staff while maintaining high standards in service, cleanliness, and product quality.
You'll be the bridge between the bar team and management, helping to create a motivated, knowledgeable, and cohesive bar team while ensuring that our guests enjoy a consistent and top-tier experience.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to);
Service & Operations:
Supervise and support the the day-to-day running of the bars, maintaining flow and efficiency across service periods and ensuring high service standards.
Oversee and implement set-up and close-down procedures of the bars.
Maintain bar setup and cleanliness to an exceptional standard before, during, and after service. Ensure bar stations are set up to an exceptional standard and fully stocked for service.
Monitor the batching process, maintain consistent drink quality, presentation, and adherence to cocktail specs.
Keep service flowing, jumping on the bar as needed.
Serve as the eyes and ears on the floor: roaming the bars, spotting issues before they arise, and offering hands-on support.
Communicate effectively with the back-of-house and bar management teams to maintain appropriate stock levels.
Minimise waste and improve efficiency in product usage.
Monitor and ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard, including weekly deep cleans and daily duties.
Oversee bar hygiene checks.
Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Licensing, and company policies.
Leadership & People Development:
Lead pre-shift briefings and staff check-ins to ensure clear communication.
Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for new team members and upskill existing staff.
Support break rotation to ensure staff welfare and sustained energy throughout service.
Promote a supportive, safe, and inclusive work environment.
Motivate the team, lead by example, and enforce company standards and policies.
Ensure staff are aware & confident of their obligations surrounding licensing, weights & measures act, challenge 25, ask for Angela & refusals.
Guest Experience:
Be the first point of contact for customer feedback, resolving any issues quickly and professionally.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of our bar offering, upselling with confidence.
Maintain a visible presence during peak times to ensure service standards are upheld and guests are satisfied.
Enforce Challenge 25 and other licensing rules, ensuring all legal and company standards are followed.
What We're Looking For
2 years' experience as a Bar Supervisor or Head Bartender in a high-volume bar or venue.
Passionate about hospitality, with a focus on creating unforgettable guest experiences.
Confident in leading a team and maintaining morale in a busy service environment.
Strong working knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive and solution-driven mindset.
Knowledge of licensing laws, Challenge 25, and Health & Safety regulations.
What you'll need:
2 years' Bar Supervisor or Head Bartender experience
Cocktail Bartending experience (min. 1 year)
Mentorship and training skills
A can-do attitude and calm head when it gets busy.
Experience of busy service and full bar offering
An infectious smile and outgoing personality to create a great buzz and customer experience.
Fluent English (spoken and comprehension)
Phenomenal communication skills
Willingness to work outside (under cover)
Able to deliver high standards consistently.
Motivated and able to use initiative
Confidence to delegate tasks to the team
