TEN, from the renowned Jimmy's Pop Up (Fire & Fromage; The BBQ Club), is a pop-up bar on London's South Bank. With a focus on seasonality and sustainability, collaborating with local producers, brewers, and distilleries for ingredients sourced within ten miles of London. Over the festive period, we will be running a cosy, winter market-style drinks offering with a range of hot drinks, including mulled wine and cider, alongside our core offering of 10 seasonal cocktails.
Job Summary:
We are seeking passionate and experienced Duty Managers (Bar Supervisors) to come on board and help run our site as we transition into our busy winter season. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading high-volume bar services, exceptional customer service skills, a strong sense of initiative, and a passion for high-quality hospitality. The Duty Manager will be responsible for overseeing shifts, supporting the management team in all aspects of the bar's operations, ensuring a high standard of service, and creating a welcoming, festive atmosphere for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Run shifts and support the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the bar.
Ensure quality control of all drink preparation (cocktails, mulled drinks, etc.) and maintain an outstanding customer experience.
Supervise, motivate, and support bar staff, including on-shift training, ensuring the team provides excellent hospitality at all times.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area.
Monitor inventory and assist with managing stock levels.
Handle opening and closing procedures, including cashing up and securing the site.
Assist in developing the seasonal menu, including our core cocktails and winter specials.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and licensing laws.
Act as the main point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues promptly.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Bar Supervisor, or Head Bartender in a fast-paced, high-volume bar or hospitality setting.
Excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer. An appreciation for seasonal/hot drinks is a plus.
Strong leadership, delegation, and team management skills.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a busy environment and handle pressure.
Good knowledge of bar operations, stock control, and POS systems.
A genuine passion for hospitality, sustainability, localism, and creating memorable guest experiences.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Fluent in English.
