The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Bar Duty Manager
to take charge of the day-to-day running of our bar. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you'll be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, supporting your team, and driving both sales and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the bar team during service, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality operations.
Act as a role model in cocktail preparation, product knowledge, and guest service.
Train and coach bar staff on menu changes, upselling techniques, and new products.
Arrange and deliver supplier/brand-led training sessions.
Support in achieving sales targets, particularly late-night revenue, through upselling and promotions.
Handle daily cashing up and contribute to accurate reporting.
Manage bar orders, stock rotation, and monitor wastage.
Collaborate with the Restaurant Duty Manager (RDM) on events and reservations where bar involvement is required.
Maintain bar cleanliness and ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and licensing standards.
Act as the main point of contact for guests at the bar, resolving complaints and ensuring a positive experience.
Report feedback, ideas, and issues upwards to senior management.
About You
Previous experience as a bar supervisor or duty manager in a busy hospitality environment.
Strong cocktail knowledge and passion for drinks innovation.
A confident leader who can motivate and support a team.
Sales-driven, with an understanding of how to hit revenue targets.
Reliable, organised, and able to work calmly under pressure.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and late nights.
