Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Runner to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The Food Runner plays a crucial role in ensuring that our guests receive their meals promptly and with exceptional service. This position requires a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for the hospitality industry.

Duties

Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation. Assist in setting up and clearing tables, maintaining cleanliness throughout the dining area. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure all orders are fulfilled correctly. Support waitstaff by providing assistance during busy periods, including refilling drinks and clearing dishes. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the restaurant or hotel setting. Help with food preparation as needed, adhering to health and safety regulations. Maintain knowledge of menu items and specials to provide accurate information to guests.

Skills

Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant environment is advantageous. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen or dining environment. A background in hospitality or bartending is beneficial but not essential. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. A willingness to help others and contribute positively to the team atmosphere.

About Us:

Rain Dogs is an independent cocktail bar in the heart of East London. We are a small venue which specialises in crafting everything from scratch. As many ingredients as possible are made by us and we have a real flair for creativity. Headed by bartenders from some of the best cocktail bars this country has to offer, you will be sure of world class training and development. Having just released our Vernal Equinox menu and soon to be expanding into a food offering this May, we are looking to expand our small, close-nit team alongside.

Position Overview:

As a Barback/Runner at Rain Dogs, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for our customers. You will be responsible for serving a range of high quality cocktails, beers and wine, as well as providing the support to our bartenders. Prior experience in these areas is essential. We value a friendly and personable demeanour, as you will be an integral part of our small team and interact directly with our customers. We are looking for part time candidates who are prepared to be flexible and fully committed to driving Rain Dogs' success.

Responsibilities:

Serve beverages, including beer, wine and cocktails, to guests in a prompt and friendly manner. Maintain a clean and organised bar area, ensuring that all glassware and supplies are readily available. Interact with customers, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Handle payments securely and accurately. Monitor and enforce responsible alcohol service guidelines. Collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the bar. Restock supplies and assist with inventory management. Adhere to health and safety guidelines and sanitation standards.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is

essential

. Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits and cocktails. A good knowledge of cocktail preparation skills are desirable but not essential for the right candidate Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Must be a team player and work well with others.

Equal and fair split of our 12.5% service charge

Contracted 20 hours (must be available for late finishes and weekend working)
