Job Description

Blue Apple are looking for an enthusiastic full time Barista and Food Service Assistant based on site with us at Miele Headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The ideal candidate should be a creative and passionate about great food and service.


Full-time, 37.5hours a week - working Monday to Friday.



Blue Apple is an experienced contract caterer working within our 1899 Cafe. Working with a diverse range of customers Blue Apple pride themselves on delivering fresh food solutions created by happy teams.

What will you be doing?

Working to ensure that standards regarding the quality, quantity, consistency, presentation and delivery of all coffees and meals are to the highest standard. You will have a can-do attitude and a customer service focus to match the premium standards of Miele. You will love working as a team to support and drive the reputation of the 1899 Cafe team.

Preparing perfectly blended drinks and serving high-quality food that delights our customers Food preparation Management (decanting deliveries) General food assistant duties (serving on counters, clearing plates, washing dishes) Maintaining a clean kitchen Stocktaking Keeping the bar area clean Receiving and processing payments (cards) Maintaining stock of clean mugs and plates Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation and presentation techniques Ensuring brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations

Our ideal candidate will:

Be a brilliant communicator and easily build relationships Have previous experience in customer service Strive for excellence in an eager and motivated manner Take initiative and make decisions that are right for our customers Have hands-on experience with brewing equipment Possess the ability to work under pressure Demonstrate exceptional timekeeping and reliability

Some previous barista and catering experience is preferred; however, we will support the right candidate with training and development.


We offer a salary of up to 12.70 per hour with a combination of benefits available
