Barista

to join our vibrant team. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating an inviting atmosphere for our customers while expertly preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will ensure that every cup of specialty coffee and every bite of food is crafted to perfection. This position requires excellent time management skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards. Prepare a variety of fresh food items including sandwiches, toasties, and paninis to a consistent high standard. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Assist with food preparation, including pastries and light snacks, while adhering strictly to hygiene standards. Engage with customers in a friendly and approachable manner, taking orders accurately and offering product recommendations. Handle cash and card transactions, maintaining accurate records of sales. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt and efficient service without compromising quality. Open and close the coffee shop, following all checklists to ensure thorough cleaning, organisation, and security procedures. Collaborate with team members to foster a positive, supportive working environment and consistently deliver excellent customer experiences.

Requirements & Experience

Previous experience as a Barista is essential - but we welcome enthusiastic individuals eager to grow and develop their skills. Experience in preparing sandwiches, toasties, and paninis is strongly preferred. A valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is required. Solid understanding of food safety practices and allergen awareness. Basic math skills for handling transactions and assisting with stock or inventory control. Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help customers feel welcome and valued. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities, especially during peak service times.
