Summary

Set in the heart of Bridgend town centre, Il Panino is best known for providing made-to-order fresh food and barista style coffee to visitors and locals in Bridgend. Situated in an iconic building in market street, Il Panino has been providing breakfasts and lunchtime treats to customers for over 25 years.

About the role

As a Barista you'll play an integral part on our journey to become the 'go to' cafe in Bridgend - we've got lots of exciting plans upcoming, but we're not just concerned with our growth, as we grow, we want to help you prosper and achieve your goals, which is why we offer a range of training and rewards.

Being a small business that's constantly evolving, you'll have opportunity to work a variety of different jobs and learn lots of new things, however, you'll need to be comfortable working as a team, helping colleagues during busy spells, taking on a variety of job duties, and using your initiative during 'quieter' periods.

You will be required to work a minimum of 12 hours per week split across two working days, and including every other Saturday. Shifts will typically be between the hours of 8:00 - 17:00 and will include a 30-minute break. There will be opportunity to pick up additional hours during busy seasonal demands, staff holiday cover and events.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Preparing hot and cold food, and salad items ready for the day Creating barista-style coffee (training will be provided but experience is strongly desirable) Making sandwiches, baguettes, paninis, jacket potatoes and other items requested by the customer Taking customer orders in a friendly and professional manner Operating the till and taking payment Maintaining a clean workspace, regularly cleaning machinery, equipment, and utensils, and uptake of good personal hygiene Speaking and interacting with both new and regular customers To follow health and safety guidelines (a Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate is essential) Being punctual and maintaining regular and consistent attendance

Hours

: 12 hours (weekdays including every other Saturday shift)
